A compact installation of a hydronic heating gas boiler upgrade, featuring the highly efficient BAXI Duo-Tec E Natural Gas boiler. This upgrade was done to replace the outdated traditional atmospheric gas combustion boilers at a large 4 bedroom residence in Melbourne's Bayside.
The existing system of two boilers had reached its end of life, and this afforded the owners the opportunity to upgrade to a state of the art hi-efficiency system. After consultation a BAXI Duo-Tec E gas condensing boiler was chosen to do the job. The system powers 14 hydronic radiators spread throughout the home and also heats the potable hot water supply for domestic consumption (DHW) through a separate calorifier tank.
The Co2 output reduction achieved compared to the previous system was massive, as well as the new BAXI system providing huge improvements in energy usage and cost savings of around 30%. The BAXI Duo-Tec E has a 1:7 modulation ratio which means the boiler turns itself down to only provide the energy needed to match the required heat output. This greatly improves boiler efficiency and lifespan by avoiding boiler on/off cycling and only using the energy needed to heat the home when it is required.
